Proxima is a desert planet, somewhat resembling a livable high gravity Mars. The sizes of the planets are Prometheus 7 (Alpha Centauri B), Aurora 8 (Alpha Centauri A), and Proxima A (Proxima Centauri). Aurora has a standard atmosphere, Prometheus a dense atmosphere, and Proxima a thin atmosphere. Aurora being very Earthlike, prometheus having physica stats stats as listed in the Solomani Rim supplement, and Proxima being Proxima B. What the PCs would do is buy their ship either new or used and then use it to make the trip from Sol to Alpha Centauri, to make it more interesting, give Alpha Centauri three main worlds within the system, these worlds are Proxima, Prometheus, and Aurora. I think a ship could be used 8 times before being scrapped. The only starships that are manufactured in the Alpha Centauri system are 100 ton scout/couriers and seeker ships, larger ones are imported from the Solar System and delivered by colonists who purchase them new and then sell them to merchants upon arrival to the system so they can recoup some of their initial purchase amount. I would use standard Traveller Starships minus their jump drives so I can use the same floor plans, there is artificial gravity, and inertial compensation (which is the same thing actually) starships may be purchased by individuals with a bank loan or by corporations. Some fictional Traveller RPG technologies are discovered later this century, these Include nuclear fusion, artificial gravity fields, and the reaction less drive, as well as low berth technology, these technologies combined make it possible to travel to other Star Systems, Alpha Centauri is the big prize with three habitable planets, Tau Ceti has one as well, there are planets further away which may be colonized eventually, there is one orbiting Delta Pavonis for example, but for now it is mostly Alpha Centauri, Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani that are the main targets for colonization. Mars is a Corporate Federal Republic where nations (including the US and China) and large corporations (SpaceX included) sponsor various colonies and write their colonial charters, some colonies are run democratically others not so much, the Martian government was a compromise offering shared power between Martian citizens and the financial backers of the colonies to avoid conflicts between those interests by giving each a stake in planetary governance, the result is that Mars is officially neutral in the Interplanetary Cold War, nationalist sentiment is developing among the Martian colonists themselves however and some are pushing for an independent planetary republic. The Senate was the upper chamber representing the Roman aristocrats, here it's been modernized to represent the various financial interests of Mars and its old-world sponsors. The Martian government has two legislative bodies, a Assembly representing the citizens of Mars, and the Senate representing the corporations and national governments that actually financed the various colonies on Mars, the chief executive is the Consul, this is modeled loosely on the government structure of the Roman Republic preceding the Empire. I don't think a United Earth government is in the cards, but a Mars government may well be, I figure it will be a combination of a corporate government and a republic of Martians (human colonists) actually living on Mars. A US/China cold war is more likely over the next century, that seems to be the trend at the moment. I think over the long term Russia may swing over and join NATO, probably after Putin is no longer president of that country.

I think there is little chance of the Moon becoming a Superpower in the next 100 years, there is a kind of Cold War going on right now, but it is between the US and China, and I think it's a safe prediction to suppose it will continue on over the next 80 years, unless some unexpected political developments occur in China. I saw mention of the Orion capsule, the capsule itself cost over one billion dollars and took 20 years to develop, while SpaceX makes a much cheaper Dragon capsule.

Bush's Space Exploration Initiative was actually implemented, but I think we are going down a different path with SpaceX Starship, which makes the SLS obsolete in my opinion. Interesting, I downloaded it once on my other computer, it is based on the premise that George H.
